50min Private Assessment Lesson

This is a lesson which assesses both your riding abilities and confidence and competency around horses. This session is great for someone who is wanting to take up regular term lessons with us. With your own private instructor (1-to-1), we assess your individual competency and discuss a program that suits your individual needs. This is only available for booking if you have never ridden with us before so that we can group you into the most suitable program after assessment. Each session will consist of assessing your basic horsemanship, how to tack up your own horse, mount independently followed by a riding session. The session may not include a full 50 minute riding session depending on instructor and student's learning goals.

THINGS TO NOTE: 

1. Wear long pants and covered shoes such as runners/sneakers or boots. Inappropriate clothing will result in forfeit of the session.

2. We can provide helmets (limited sizes available). Wearing a current Australian standard safety horse riding helmet is compulsory. If you require a customised helmet for any reason, you will need to advise Woodlands if anything can be arranged, otherwise you will have to provide this yourself. Not being able to wearing a helmet will result in forfeit of the session.

3. Arrival time is 15 minutes prior to session time for check-in to ensure all documents have been signed. Latecomers of more than 15 minutes will result in forfeit of the session. 

4. Horses and ponies are allocated based on availability, experience, height and weight. Any special requests may not be guaranteed for safety of the session.

5. Instructors will take photos and/or videos only if requested and can be downloaded via a link emailed to you automatically after each session within 48 hours.

6. No spectators will be allowed to enter the riding area. We offer pony rides for younger children and private NDIS covered equine assisted sessions if the participant requires a support worker or guardian present.

**IMPORTANT: For bookings with less than a day notice or same day bookings, please call ahead to confirm availability (Office Hours: Wednesday-Sunday 8:30am-5:00pm). No guarantee of availability if no advance bookings have been made, as bookings normally require more than 24 hours notice so that we can arrange suitable horses and sufficient staffing. Public holiday surcharges apply.
